Geraldine Diroff, born on March 5, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 in Carleton, Michigan at the age of 91.
Geraldine’s dedication to nurturing young minds was evident through her longstanding role as a foster grandmother at the local school, where her caring nature touched the lives of many children.
A woman of many interests, Geraldine found immense joy in her garden, tending to her beloved red roses at home while holding a particular fondness for lavender roses. Her love for music led her to sing with the Sweet Adelines, bringing harmony and joy to those around her. A devoted fan of soap operas, she particularly enjoyed watching "General Hospital," never missing an episode.
Geraldine's infectious personality was highlighted by her always immaculate eyebrows and signature Jimmy Choo perfume, embodying her sassy yet loving demeanor. Her culinary skills were cherished by family and friends, who often delighted in her homemade brownies, pumpkin cake, and Thanksgiving stuffing. She had a sweet tooth for maple cream buns candy and the delightful maple creams from Truan’s Candy Shop.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Geraldine found great joy in her family. Her children, Mark (Linda) Diroff, Mike (Amy) Diroff, Christopher (Kim) Diroff, Jim (Helen) Diroff, Diane (Robert) Long, and Matthew (Laura) Diroff will remember her enduring love and strength. Her grandchildren Ron (Becky), Mark (Renee), Ali (Nicholas), Andre, Michael (Renee), Natalie, Brian (Alex), Catherine, Sean (Julia), Stacey Marie (Chris), Brad (Kati), Julie (Mike), Christine (Sam), James II (Arlette), Jason (Kristin), Kyle (Kara), Mitchell (Yvonne), Curtis (Emily), Grace, Greta, and Ethan, along with her numerous great-grandchildren, all cherished the time spent with her and carry forward her legacy of warmth and vivacity.
She is preceded in death by her cherished great-grandson Aiden Diroff, her parents Edward and Grace Journeaux, and her sisters Betty, Marilyn, Patricia, and her beloved twin sister Kathleen.
The spunky, feisty spirit of Geraldine Diroff will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her, as her legacy continues in the beautiful smiles and laughter of her family. She remains forever in our hearts.
