Obituary

Jeffrey Allen DuHadway, born on February 7, 1967, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away on September 7, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 57. Jeffrey was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend who valued deeply the relationships he had with the people in his life.

Jeffrey had a passion for tennis and bike riding and was an ardent sports fan, especially when it came to watching his Spartans play. His wit and intelligence were well-known among his friends and family, and he possessed a wicked sense of humor that was both sarcastic and endearing.

A lover of history and a proud graduate of Michigan State University, Jeffrey was a Sparty for life. His devotion to his family and his Catholic faith was evident in everything he did. Jeffrey’s interests were diverse; he adored Star Wars, cherished the music of the Beatles, 10,000 Maniacs, The Smiths, and Barenaked Ladies, and had a particular fondness for the movie "Strange Brew."

The holidays held a special place in Jeffrey's heart, especially Thanksgiving, which was his favorite holiday. He took great pride in preparing turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, a tradition that brought immense joy to him and his family. Jeffrey also loved theatre and had an affinity for Looney Tunes, particularly Bugs Bunny.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving parents, Nancy and Roy DuHadway; his siblings, Michelle (Travis) Cochran, Susan (Concetto) Tempio, and Scott DuHadway; and his cherished niece, Ella. His loyalty, humor, and loving nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Condolences

  • Roy and Nancy. So very sorry to hear this. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. My love and hugs to you at this time to you and your family. Judith Maynard
  • I had the privilege of working with Jeff at Henry Ford on the Helios project. Jeff was a gentle giant and kind soul. I'm better for knowing him. As I read his obituary, I realized we had something in common I didn't realize. So I say with the greatest love and levity: "Take off you hoser!". Your work here is done. Robert Whitty
