Obituary

John Diepenhorst, age 65, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away on February 18, 2026. Born on April 25, 1960, in Trenton, Michigan, he spent his life surrounded by the natural beauty and serenity of his beloved home state.

John was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cultivated a deep appreciation for farming and gardening, particularly cherishing the time he spent nurturing roses in his backyard. His passion for the outdoors led him to deer hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature in profound ways. A true lover of the earth, John relished the feeling of grass between his toes and delighted in exploring the world around him.

He had a special affinity for animals and found peace and contentment in their company. Whether dip-netting or simply enjoying the tranquility of a quiet day outside, John embraced the outdoors with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of gratitude.

John is preceded in death by his father, Freddie Diepenhorst, and his brother, Les Diepenhorst. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted mother, Rosemary Palazzolo; siblings Fred (Kim) Diepenhorst, Debra (Joe) Schear, George (Leona) Diepenhorst, and Helen (Phil) Kass; and sister-in-law Cheryl. He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who brought him great joy.

In the hearts of those who knew him, John will be remembered for his love of nature, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering devotion to his family. He has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
