Obituary

Mono Vincenzo D'Angelo, aged 80, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Grosse Ile, Michigan. Born on February 1, 1945, in the vibrant city of Naples, Italy, he carried the charm and passion of his birthplace with him throughout his life.

Mono pursued a career as a Design Engineer at Ford Motor Co., where he applied his keen intellect and creativity. Outside of his professional endeavors, he was a true sailor at heart. He spent countless hours navigating the waters aboard his beloved 30-foot sailboat, “Raging Storm” and his cherished Boston Whaler.

A man of many talents, Mono was deeply artistic, creating numerous exquisite works of art in pastels, oils, and pencil sketches. His artistic flair extended to the literary world, where he served as the president of the Poetry Society of Michigan and authored a novel, "Powers of Fate," that reflected his profound understanding of human nature. An avid woodworker, his craftsmanship was admired by all who knew him. Mono also was an avid bicyclist and tennis player.

Mono was preceded in death by his parents, Mono and Anna D'Angelo, and his sister, Josephine Avery (Tom). He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Ingrid; his sons, Michael and Christopher D'Angelo; and his brothers, Tony D'Angelo (Barbara) and John D'Angelo (Kathy).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a service to honor Mono's life at 5:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation will follow at "The Witness Crematory" located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Downriver Poets & Playwrights, reflecting Mono's enduring legacy of compassion and creativity.

Mono Vincenzo D'Angelo will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Condolences
