Sharon Renee Dorris, born on December 24, 1949, in Detroit, MI, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Taylor, MI, at the age of 75.
Sharon was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her vibrant spirit touched many lives, and she was known for her kind and generous heart. Sharon dedicated 20 years of her life to her career at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital as a loved supervisor. A talented cook, Sharon loved gathering family and friends around her table, where she shared not just meals, but laughter and love.
A dedicated advocate for first responders and Downriver for Veterans, an organization that held a special place in her heart. Sharon was passionate about supporting those who served her community.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Dorris; her parents, Robert and Rose Ryan; and her sister, Lucy. She is survived by her cherished children Stephanie (Michael) Brandt, Rebecca Kerr, Ryan (Liz) Dorris, and Teresa (Scott) Gutekunst and her loving sister Ann (Jim) Lazarz. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandson, Scott, and her beloved bonus grandchildren John, Jason, and Madison. Sharon also leaves behind many loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Donations may be made in Sharon's memory to the Downriver for Veterans. Sharon’s life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and service, and she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
