William Cleveland Dye, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on April 4, 2025, in Royal Oak, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on June 18, 1941, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Bill lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Bill dedicated many years of his career to the Ford Automotive Company, where he worked in salvage repair until his retirement. Known for his skillful hands and resourceful nature, Bill was a true "Jack of all trades." His passion for hunting and fishing brought him joy and tranquility, while his sociable spirit endeared him to many. Bill's greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.

A proud member of the Masons and the UAW Local 387, Bill valued community and camaraderie. His warm personality and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings: Fannie, Cathy, Retha, Betty, James, Kenny, Allen, George, and Melvin. He is survived by his beloved significant other, Monica Nelson; his son, Wayne Dye; his grandchildren, Robert Gibson and Danielle Dye; and his three great-grandchildren, Riley, Jameson, and Lacey. He is also survived by his brothers Edward (Gaye) Dye and Emerson (Beth) Dye, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Condolences

  • Bill was always a gentleman when I would come on the porch and offer me a chair. He was always kind and had a warm smile with a joke here and there. More than anything I loved watching how him and Monica would do so much together. You will be missed on the porch Bill. R. I. P. ❤️ Madessa
