Obituary
William Howard Decker, 70, of New Boston, MI, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a battle with lung cancer.
Born on January 21, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Bill lived a life full of grit, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family. He was a straight-shooter with a stubborn streak and a no nonsense attitude; traits that defined him and endeared him to those closest to him.
He found joy in the simple things: a quiet morning fishing, days spent tinkering in his barn with his best friend, Little Joe, and time spent with his family. Bill was a proud father to Brandy (David) Horton and William (Nikki) Decker; a loving grandfather to Amelia (Jake), Hannah, Spenser, and Althea; and a great-grandfather to Nova.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Kelly Decker; his parents, Charles and Eleanor; and siblings Frank, Butch, Danny, and Debbie; and his loyal sidekick, Hobo Joe. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his wife, Wendy Otsuki; his sisters, Sherry and Connie; his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, all of whom he loved deeply and fiercely.
In Bill’s honor, pick up the phone and call a family member—preferably when they’re busy—just to give them a hard time. He’d have loved that.
