Obituary

EDWARDS, Constance (Gontarski), 78, of Southgate passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. She is survived her 3 children Debbie (John Miller), Eric and Cindy (Chris LeGris), sisters Geri (Harry Nicoll) and Lorraine (Larry Hassa). brother-in-law Larry Edwards (Pat) and sister-in-law (Sandy). She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren that were her pride & joy – Chad, Victoria, Luke & Owen, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joe, his brothers Mark & David Edwards and her parents Alex and Stella Gontarski. 

Connie endured a disability for multiple decades like no one else could ultimately leaving her bed ridden for 7 years. She was resilient, strong & entertaining often without a filter, always saying what was on her mind and was willing to do anything for a laugh. She will be remembered for so many things and people will forever recall her “Connieisms” but those who really know her beyond the surface have seen what loyalty, empathy and faith really are. She never pampered herself, never needed much and always put a lot of thought and energy toward her grandkids and people that needed her most. Her life was dedicated to her family, her greatest source of joy.
