ERZ, Jordan A., age 23, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, formally of Carleton, Michigan, passed from this life on January 26, 2016. She was born May 29, 1992 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Beloved daughter of Dan Erz of Dundee, Michigan and Karen Goretski (James Montgomery) of Carleton, Michigan. Loving sister of Allen Goretski, Jr. and Justin Goretski. She is survived by her step-father Allen Goretski, Sr., maternal grandmother Noreen Tkachuk and grandfather Gerald Goretski, her uncles Dan and Michael Tkachuk, her aunts Susan Tkachuk, Linda Brown and Sandy Sanders. She is preceded in death by her brother Peter Joseph, her maternal grandfather Peter Tkachuk, her paternal grandparents Roy and Simone Erz and grandmother Bonnie Goretski. Jordan was a country girl and one with nature. Prior to college, Jordan attended St. Patrick Catholic School for nine years and then went to Airport High School, both in Carleton, Michigan. She participated 10 years in 4H raising chickens and rabbits, showing goats and dairy cattle. Jordan had a horse Levi who she loved taking on long trail rides. She also loved archery and rifle shooting and getting dressed in her camo gear and painting her face to go into the woods for hunts. Looking back she never was one for frilly dresses or Barbie dolls. She was born to be free and one with nature and was active in soccer, softball, basketball and volleyball growing up. She excelled at volleyball and always had an eye for where to hit the ball on the court. Jordan was awarded a Division 1 scholarship to UALR for Freshman year, then UAFS accepted her with a full scholarship her Sophomore through Senior years. She continued to take classes after volleyball for Business Administration. She worked as a manager at Ultimutt Doggy Care for 5 years and truly loved it, taking care of all the animals and showering them with love. Her co-workers and bosses (aka) 2nd moms Mary and Brook were a solid family for her and showered her with love and affection. She loved her dog Nike and raised her to be obedient, loving and gentle. Jordan found peace in life’s simple things; a hike in the woods with her dog or friends, an overnight camping trip with nothing but a hammock a tarp and living off the land, helping those in need no matter how small the task. She is well known for taking on so many pet sitting tasks or house and pet sitting weeks or weekends and treasured each of them in her journey. Jordan loved coaching the up and coming youth and being a part of their growth. She REALLY appreciated the generosity of all the families who treated her for meals while away for those tournaments. There were so many families that took her under their wing and gave her love while being so far away from home and family. She couldn’t wait to call home and share the information about the holiday dinners that she would be invited to. The love, warmth, support and kindness that Fort Smith has wrapped my baby with will never be forgotten. Arrangements made by Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation took place at Edwards Funeral Home, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
