Obituary

Erdman, Lawrence Russell, age 70, of Brownstown, MI, born in Monroe, MI, died June 18th, 2014 at The Barbara Ann Karmonas Cancer Center surrounded by his family. The beloved husband of Patricia A. Erdman, Loving Father of Guy R. Erdman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Stephanie R. Vandenberg of New Hope, PA, Dearest Grandfather of Chris, Max, Nick and Claire. Loving Son of Robert Erdman and the late Martha Erdman. He is also survived by his three loving sisters Barbara (Skip) Bainbridge, Elaine Foss, and Peggy (Dave) Hennegar; and 11 nieces and nephews. A graduate of Trenton High School and attendee of Ferris State University, Larry was a Supervisor at Chrysler Motors during his younger years and then pursued a successful career in home building in 1970 moving to Houston TX in 1976 where he became an award-winning builder throughout the state including Houston, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake and Galveston, TX. An American Sportsman from hunting bear in Canada; deer hunting throughout the United States: Dove hunting in Mexico; fishing the oceans wide in Alaska, Mexico, Canada and the U.S. His greatest passion was fishing the Galveston Bay where he had several secret “honey holes” and hosting “fish fries” for friends and family. His passions included beer, playing horse shoes, tinkering around the house and in his garage and continuously working on projects. He was a proud homeowner who kept his home and yard meticulous. He was the first “photo bomber”, one of a kind, word master, storyteller and comedian. He could make anyone laugh and loved to do so. The “Remarkable Man” survived two small plane crashes, multiple boating incidences, one stroke, an Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm, and a major brain hemorrhage due to chemotherapy for his Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Larry received excellent care at the Barbara Ann Karmonas Cancer Institute. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Abhinav Deol who provided the most personal and kindest care.

Condolences
