Condolences

  • Grandpa Mike taught me to enjoy time with friends and family. He was always smiling, asking questions, listening to my stories, and giving his grandkids hugs. He taught me the strategy to play Books and Runs; make sure you are not only keeping track of your cards but also the ones other people lie down (a good strategy for winning). He taught me that if you love a certain food you should never pass up an opportunity to eat it! And he loved to remind me that if I was wearing mismatched socks I had a pair just like that at home. He taught me that family is there for me when I need help and supports me when times get hard. He showed me what a good parent and grandparent is; smart, curious, loving, kind, determined, and always leading by example. I will miss him forever but the lessons he taught will live on in every person he met and because of this, he will never be forgotten. I love you Grandpa Alexandria
  • Mike will be so missed by all his friends and neighbors at Recreation Plantation. What a great guy. So many good memories of him. Ron and Barb Houmard
  • Mike will always be remembered to me personally as one of the best men I’ve ever had the pleasure to call friend and work along side in our trade. His passion and pride in being a brother pipefitter and member of 636 was genuine, and to his core as an individual. We shared many good times, worked hard, made some money, raised our families in our younger days and had fun doing it. Feeling the loss of his passing now……,but know thoughts from time passed will bring smiles to mine and others faces who knew him. Be at peace Mike. Freddie Ritz
  • I had the privilege of meeting Mike Epley, many many years ago. My best friend, my spouse, Richard Hudson; introduced me to Mike. Years passed by and our connection to each other was through mutual friends or one of Mikes best friends Jack Hudson; Richard’s brother. More than 10 years has passed, but we had the honor of having Mike and Donna park their travel travel in our front driveway and they of course, brought their motorcycle. Because that is what we did, ride motorcycles. Old cars are always in the pictures too but motorcycles day trips and looking over the country side of panhandle of Texas is how we spent our time. The visit was so very enjoyable and friendships tend to be established stronger than ever before, Donna, I just want you to know how very sorry I am to hear about Mikes passing. I understand the loss of your soulmate. My thoughts and my prayers will be for you as you travel this different path. I am so happy I got to know you and have such sweet memories of our time together here in Amarillo. God bless you. Love a friend. Pam Hudson Pam Hudson
  • Our family is saddened by the loss of Mike. He was such a friendly and helpful presence on the lake. Whenever we even thought of starting a project, we'd keep an eye out for Mike so we could chat about it first. He loved our lake and the Lake Life. We've been honored to share this time with him and miss him dearly. Rest in peace, our friend. Marshall Family

  • Very heartbroken to hear of Michaels passing. Also tremendously grateful to have known Mike and Donna as wonderful people for many years. It was not even a year ago when we were surprised to be able to ride one of Mikes Gold Wings to Bike Week in Daytona Beach with Mike, Donna, Julie and others (our first and only time to date) This is a memory Lisa and I will cherish forever. Thank you Mike for the plumbing tips along the way as we renovated our bathroom last year as well. Not sure I would’ve gotten the shower drain moved without your advice… Rest In Peace dear Michael, and our most heartfelt condolences to Donna and the rest of the family.
