Betty Jean Ferguson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Kimball, Michigan, at the age of 85. Born on February 14, 1940 in Continental, Ohio, Betty was a beacon of love and warmth throughout her life.
Betty cherished her family above all else, dedicating her life to nurturing her children and grandchildren. Her home was always filled with joy, laughter and music, especially during the holidays, when she would lavishly decorate and celebrate each occasion with enthusiasm. An artist at heart, Betty found joy in painting, drawing, and creating beautiful flower arrangements, sharing her creativity with those she loved. She also delighted in traveling, often visiting family, strengthening bonds and making cherished memories along the way. Betty loved to cook & would often serve enough food for an army. Sundays were reserved for family dinners, where her warmth and hospitality brought everyone together.
Betty is preceded in death by parents, Andew and Lucille Erhart, her brothers Dean and Dennis Erhart, and her sister, Shelly Duncan. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her in their hearts: her devoted husband of 38 years, Robert “Bob” Ferguson; her children, Diane (Jim Shefferly) Bachman, Brenda (Phil) Kraemer, Janet Backman, Julie (Paul) Wikarski, Donna (Mike) Poupard, and Michael Ferguson; and her cherished grandchildren, Tristan McShane, Brendan Gorecki, Erek Wikarski, Daniel Wikarski, Madison (Chris) Reed, Grant Poupard, Sienna Shelp; and her great grandchildren Kinsely Shelp and Kolbie Shelp.
She is also survived by her siblings, Don (Sharon) Erhart, Bill (Linda) Erhart, Luci (Jack) Kaiser, Kathy (Mike) Short) Wayne (Sherry) Erhart and Patty (Al) McAlister, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Betty’s legacy of love and artistry will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Having shared 38 beautiful years together, Robert and Betty will also share a visitation service on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 1:00 ~ 2:00 PM with the service at 3:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
