Obituary

Billy Fisher, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 16, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 85. Born on August 31, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Billy lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Billy was a man of great character and generosity, known for his huge heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a devoted family man, always putting his loved ones first and ensuring they were well cared for. His sense of humor brought joy to those around him, and his infectious laughter will be dearly missed.

A hardworking and dedicated individual, Billy worked for his family-owned roofing company, where he took pride in his work. Beyond his professional life, Billy had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, traveling with his very best friend and partner in crime, Pete Traster, across the United States to pursue these adventures. From hunting bear in Canada to fishing in the pristine waters of Alaska, Billy embraced the thrill of the wild, creating amazing memories with Pete. Pete unfortunately preceded him in death, his memory was forever tattooed on Billy’s heart.

Billy also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and the occasional trip to Las Vegas, where he relished the excitement of the city. He found peace and joy in all things outdoors, including snowmobiling, and cherished the time spent at the home he and his beloved wife Janice built together-a sanctuary for their family.

Billy and Janice shared a remarkable journey together, having met in their teens and celebrating 44 years of marriage. Their love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Billy was preceded in death by his daughter Kelli Coleman; parents William and Martha Fisher; brother Robert Fisher; great-nephew Bobby Fisher III; niece Rebecca Metz-Nash; brother-in-law Marty Mertz; and last but not least, cherished friend, Pete Traster.

Billy leaves behind his beloved wife Janice Fisher; his children Gina (Darrell) and Jack (Claudette) Coleman; grandchildren Ray & Carol Lopez, Russ Taylor, and JJ Coleman; great-grandchildren Ray (Zayra) Lopez, Hana (Brad) Morin, Denyse Denhart, and John Denhart; and great-great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Braxton, Izabella, Violet, and Elijah. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Mertz, dear friends Bert & Ricki Boyless, and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.
