Obituary

Carol Flotte, the beloved wife of Ernest Flotte, died on October 10, 2019 at the age of 77 in Allen Park, Michigan. Much like the life she lived, Carol passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. She is survived by her husband Ernie, two daughters, Catherine (Bakos) Gross and Sarah Flotte (Dipak) Patel, and dearest grandsons Bakos Nicholas and Connor Joseph Gross. Carol’s love for family, friends, theatre, travel, music and fine wine will always bring fond memories to those she leaves behind.

  • I am so sorry to learn my long-time friend has passed. I'll share a couple happy memories in tribute to Carol's wonderful good nature, During our college days, we took a semester-break trip (car / bus) to visit Carol's grand parents in Nagaunee, MI. We were last 2 passengers when the bus arrived in dark early dawn. at remote little bus station outside town. The bus driver opened door for us, threw stack of newspapers out behind us & drove off. Temporarily we felt really alone in vast darkness However shortly afterward family arrived to pick us up for a wonderful UP family visit. In more recent times, my husband Brian & I have enjoyed sharing time with Carol & Ernie. A few years ago they joined our bus trip to Stratford Ontario. I retain a beautiful memory of the 4 of us sitting in the sunshine at a table on the dock of lovely downtown Avon River, sharing lunch, laughs & great discussion., Much Love from Micki & Brian Larimer Micki Larimer
