
Obituary
Charles Louis Faybik was the son of Charles A. Faybik and Elizabeth A. nee Polansky and was born on July 3, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. Charles parents were both immigrants from Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia). Charles went to school at St. Leo on Grand River Avenue. He later joined the Air Force Reserves and in 1951 served in North Africa. After returning, Charles took up the occupation of Wire Worker, a trade his father brought from the old country. In 1971, he hired on at Ford Motor Company and worked in the Flat Rock foundry for 10 years, After that, Charles transferred to the Livonia Transmission plant where he was a line worker. Charles retired in 2001. Charles enjoyed Ballroom Dancing and active in both Trenton community as well as St. Petersburg, Florida. His favorite dance partner was Flora Wilkinson, who was also his special friend. Charles was Catholic and had attended St. Roch in Flat Rock and St. John Vianney in St. Pete Beach. Charles is survived by his two children, David (Lori) Faybik and Lisa Sullivan and five grandchildren: Kelsey Faybik, Brandy Faybik, Jenny Faybik, Mallorie Sullivan, Christine Sullivan. There were also five nieces and five nephews: Barbara Rhodes, Susan (Gary) Looze, Michael (Karen) Zavicar, Mary Beth (John) Redmon, John (Karen) Zavicar, Maureen Dunstan, Mark (Mary) Zavicar, Christopher (May) Zavicar, Elaine (Jim) Spiers, Stephen (Sharon) Faybik. Charles was preceded in death by sisters: Mary Zavicar, Dorothy Faybik, and a half brother, John Kucavik
