FILAK, David J, age 61, of New Boston, January 29, 2016. Beloved husband of Gail Filak. Loving father of Johnathon and David “DC” Filak. Dearest son of Jane and the late Joseph Filak. Grandfather of David (Jr.) and Zachary Filak. He is also survived by brothers James, Richard “Chip” (Kay) and Ken Filak. Dave graduated from St. Frances Cabrini class of 1972, went on to Wayne State University to receive a degree in political science. He was a staunch Democrat, was always ready for a debate. Dave retired from Ford Motor Company after thirty-two and half years as skilled trades, tool and die. Last worked at Faurecia in Saline, Michigan. He touched so many lives as an honorable, caring man devoted to his family and friends. He achieved a CNA degree from both Michigan and Arizona. He always had a project going and was willing to help others. Dave bravely battled T-Cell Leukemia which ended up taking him way too soon from his family and friends who loved him. He will be greatly missed! Interment in Michigan Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Angela Hospice.
