Obituary

Jeffrey L. Fikes of Detroit, Michigan was born on March 16, 1957 to loving parents James Allen Fikes and Minnie Pearl Fikes. Jeffrey graduated from Cooley High School in 1974, then attended Detroit Business Institute where he graduated with Honors in Accounting. 
 
After graduating, Jeffrey worked his way through the automotive industry, securing a job with Ford Motor Company; where he remained and flourished in his career as an Accountant until retirement. Known for being a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing golf and watching both basketball and football; passing his love for sports onto his children by teaching them how to play a variety of sports. No stranger to hard work, he enjoyed working in the yard; often not leaving until it fit what he envisioned. He also enjoyed traveling and took advantage of his retirement by traveling the world.
 
Jeffrey made his transition on January 12, 2024. He will be remembered as the beloved father of Jeff Fikes, Jamaal Fikes, and Alexander Fikes; loving grandfather of Alysia Moreno; dearest brother of Loretta Campbell and Diane “Pixie”; and adored family member by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jeffrey loved his family and showed his admiration and affection in his own ways. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, and always loved.
