- I only knew Kathryn later in life, she leased a car from me. I still remember when u first went on a test drive with her. She said to me "you know, I feel kind of goofy buying a new car at this age." To which I replied "what do you mean? My grandma bought a new car 2 years ago and she's in her 70s". Kathryn says "Well, I'm turning 100 next year" I stopped her right there, as I'm looking for the brake pedal (that I don't have) on my side of the car. I was shocked that someone that was nearly 100 years old could be so youthful. My great grandmother lived to be 101 years old, god rest her, but she was nearly blind and deaf near the end. Kathryn didn't need a walker, cane, or hearing aid. I believe that she merely wore glasses as a formality, as not to impose her genetic superiosity onto others. Her wit was sharp as can be, regardless of age. To say she left an imprint on me is an understatement. They do not make them like that any more. Alec Cobb
