Obituary
Robert “Bob” Allen Ferguson, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025. Born on December 19, 1945, in Belleville, Michigan, Bob was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend whose love touched all who knew him.
Bob will be remembered for his selfless love and care for his family. He dedicated his life to caring for others, without ever asking for anything in return. His greatest joy came from seeing his family happy, cared for, and safe.
A true craftsman at heart, Bob found joy in building and creating. Whether designing his own machines or crafting beautiful pieces of woodwork, he could often be found in his shop tinkering away on his next project. Taking after his father, Bob had a knack for fixing what was broken and improving what already worked. His family will always treasure the adventures in his homemade dune buggies and outdoor toys, as well as the beautiful hand-crafted gifts he created with love.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army, spending four years stationed in Germany. After his service, he lovingly provided for his family with a 30 year career at Ford Motor Company, where he later retired. Outside of work, Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his family, whether it be enjoying a burger at Big Boy, sharing a bowl of ice cream or preparing fun outdoor activities for their next family party. He liked being known as “Fun Bob” to his family.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Faye and Mary Ferguson, and his beloved wife of 38 years, Betty Ferguson. His family takes comfort in knowing that they are together again.
Bob leaves behind many who loved him: his siblings, Roger (Diane) Ferguson, Richard (Lennie) Ferguson, and Marie (Regis) Prioulx; his children, Donna (Mike) Poupard, Michael Ferguson, Diane (Jim Shefferly) Bachman, Brenda (Phil) Bachman, Janet Bachman, and Julie (Paul) Wikarski; his grandchildren, Tristan McShane, Brendan Gorecki, Erek Wikarski, Daniel Wikarski, Madison (Chris) Reed, Grant Poupard, and Sianna Shelp; his great grandchildren, Kinsley and Kolbie Shelp; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Bob’s legacy of love, selflessness, and quiet strength will continue to live on through those who know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
