Obituary

Tommy Joe Freeman, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 6, 2025, in New Boston, at the age of 90. Born on January 2, 1935, in Lincoln Park, Tommy graduated high school and joined the Marines and served his country in the Korean War. He then began working at Michigan Bell. After raising his family in Romulus, Tommy and Alberta retired to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he enjoyed 30 years of peaceful retirement, surrounded by the beauty of Sacramento Mountains.

Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alberta, and his parents, Herman and Abby Freeman.

He is survived by his loving children, the late Jeff (Susan) Freeman, Brant (Tina Kochan) Freeman, Dean (Amy) Freeman, and Dan (Dusty) Freeman, who will forever hold his memory dear. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Stone, Luke, Sarah, Clay, Matthew, Caitlee, Trentyn, Alex, and Macy, as well as his great-grandchildren, Christine, Ava, and Justin.

A man of many interests, Tommy was an avid hunter who cherished the serenity of the great outdoors. He found joy in watching western films, especially those featuring the legendary John Wayne, and enjoyed watching NASCAR on TV with his Budweiser, thrilled by the speed and competition.

Tommy proudly was a member of several esteemed organizations, including the American Legion, VFW, FOE, and Moose Lodge, where he fostered lifelong friendships and contributed to his community.

Tommy's life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, and passion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Condolences
