Obituary

Born in Detroit, Michigan on November 1st, 1950, Armand attended St. John Berchman, Servite High School, Macomb County Community College and graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.

Armand worked at Chrysler Motor Company, was a Pharmaceutical Representative for Abbott Laboratories and was a self-employed painter and wallpaperer. He also worked for the Boy Scouts of America and volunteered as a Cubmaster.  For 27 years he worked as an Electrician for Wayne County and was a member of IBEW Local 58.  He was certified as a Veterinary Technician through Wayne County Community College’s Vet Tech. course at Wayne State University. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann, of 53 years, daughters Kimberly (Dave) Mathews, Tracy (Hugo) Garza Davison and son, Kurt Garza.

Armand’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Chance, Megan, Alex, Frankie, Scarlett and Evie.

He is also survived by his siblings, George (Jan) Garza, Angie (Beryl) Richards, Roseanne Garza and Michael Garza.

Armand was preceded in death by his parents, Armando and Isidra Garza, and siblings, Armandito Garza, Jimmy Paul Garza, Anthony “Tony” Garza and Juanita Garza.

Armand was a proud father and grandfather who supported and attended school and sports events including cheerleading, hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, track, swimming, basketball, softball, baseball, football, soccer, diving, figure skating, cross country, wrestling, dance recitals, Warrior Dashes, triathlons & marathons in the US and Canada. 

His hobbies and interests included boating, camping, collecting, canoeing, reading, history, traveling, music, moviegoing, playing euchre, board games, flea marketing, meeting people and learning their life story and spending time at the cottage for over 50 years….

His life was a testament to Love, Family and FUN! 

Family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Doctors without Borders.
