Obituary
Barbara June Greca, born on June 14, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 90 in New Boston, Michigan.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Greca; her parents Anthony and Evelyn Shinske; her son Mark (Keiko) Greca; her daughter-in-law Kathy Greca; and her cherished grandson Derek Greca.
Barbara spent much of her career as a dedicated bank teller, where her friendly demeanor and attention to detail earned her the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, she was known for her love of garage sales and antiques, often finding unique treasures that added character to her home. Her garden was a beautiful testament to her passion for gardening, and she particularly enjoyed watching the hummingbirds that frequented her window.
Family was the cornerstone of Barbara’s life. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, delighting in their accomplishments and supporting them in all their endeavors. She is survived by her children: Michael (Debby) Greca, Mitchell Greca, Marlene (Mike) Haman, and Marcia (Leo Sumner) Stoner. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Ryan Greca, Erin Greca, Garry Greca, Jacob Melton, Jenna Melton, Joshua Melton, Zack (Sarah) Stoner, Chelsea (Mark Gorman) Stoner, and Emily (Robert Salter) Stoner, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her longtime friend and companion Frank Dame, who liked to talk about the old days, and reminince about their life.
Barbara shared a close bond with her brother Anthony (Karen) Shinske and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. She had a particular fondness for Mexican food and loved to share meals with those she held dear.
Barbara’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and love for life serve as an enduring inspiration to all who knew her.
