Betty Louise Gilliam, age 79, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan. Born on January 6, 1947, she lived a life full of love and laughter, cherished by her family and friends.
Betty was a devoted mother, nana, sister, and friend. She found joy in simple pleasures such as playing Bingo, visiting the casino, and enjoying BBQs with her family. Her hardworking nature was evident throughout her life, and she always made time to share special moments with loved ones.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loval Gilliam; her parents, Raymond and June Egolf; and her siblings, William Egolf, Linda Renaud, and Debora Issac.
Betty is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Apolloni, Mary Bozman, Anna Beach (Lawrence), Carolyn Bryant, and Raymond Egolf (Linda). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have expressed their condolences during this difficult time. Services for Betty are currently pending, and details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
