- Dave, you were like a big brother to me. I had the privilege of working with you at General Motors for many years. You were there for me when I was temporarily fired from General Motors. You called me up and asked if I needed some work. You gave me a job painting an apartment for visiting missionaries. I always enjoyed talking with you. It seems we often discussed many things pertaining to the Lord. Your wife has been kind to our family. She would drive my mother-in-law to the Doctors for her office visits from time to time. I remember when i was a little kid yall came down to south carolina to see the family and cousin david bought me a stuffed animal and my first word to him was i want a pop. - He was a father to me when I had none, he walked me down the Isle when I married his son, he was the best grandfather to his grandchildren, and the best father a girl could have and I wouldn't change one thing od all the wonderful times we had, it was the hardest thing I had to do when he passed, so I just held him tight, and I knew he was home. - My sincere sympathy to all of your family, I'm sorry. This is a victory for him but a great loss for all. Your family was always kind to us. We have pictures of you at James graduation and our wedding. Later, you and Grandmother Evelyn visited at our house in KY when our girls were small. In recent years, we were together at Grandmother Evelyn's funeral...David rode his bike over to book a hotel room for us and ended up with a flat tire and pushing it home. Then you came for James' funeral. I will always appreciate the phone calls to keep up with our families. I'm praying that your family feels God's support and grace all around you.
