Obituary

Deborah Jean Glenn, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Southgate, Michigan, at the age of 71. Born on January 2, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Debbie lived a life full of love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

Debbie was a devoted caretaker by profession, but her true calling was caring for those around her with the biggest heart imaginable. She gave unconditional love and forgiveness to all who knew her, embodying kindness and warmth. A true warrior, Debbie faced life's challenges with courage and resilience, inspiring everyone she met.

Her family was the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Debbie's love extended beyond her immediate family to her community, where she was an active member of the Downriver Rats, a women's group associated with the VFW dedicated to helping those in need. She also shared her nurturing spirit as a Girl Scout leader, guiding young minds with patience and grace.

Debbie found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing bingo and spending time with her family. Her laughter and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by her surviving family: her children Thomas (Pummy) Laskowski, Timothy (Susan) Laskowski, Dawn (James) Potoczek, and Jami (Shaun Truxal) Laskowski; her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her sister Cathy Vargo, brother Donald (Cheryl) Neumann, Jr., and sister Mary (Danny) Markiecki; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Debbie also leaves behind her yorkies, Mickey, Minnie, and Belle, whom she treasured.

Debbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Glenn, Sr., her mother, Mary Alan, and her father, Donald Neumann, Sr.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbie's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring her legacy of love and care for others.

Debbie's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
