Obituary

Helen Clair Waucaush-Garcia, born on August 17, 1951, in Dutton, Ontario, peacefully passed away on August 11, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 72. Helen was a devoted homemaker whose life was a testament to love, support, and unwavering devotion to her family and heritage.

Helen was married to the love of her life, Rolando Garcia, for 41 wonderful years. Their bond was a profound source of strength and joy, and she cherished every moment they spent together. Wherever Rolando was, Helen was sure to be found by his side, sharing in life's adventures.

A loving and great mother, Helen was known by all as "Mom." Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own children, providing a comforting presence and a listening ear to anyone in need. She was immensely proud of her Chippewa heritage and found peace and happiness in the great outdoors, especially when camping with loved ones.

Preceded in death by her mother Rita Waucaush and her grandfather Charles Waucaush, Helen leaves behind a legacy carried forward by her surviving family. This includes her devoted husband, Rolando Garcia; her children, Mark (Carla) Waucaush, Jerry Waucaush, Robert (Christina) Waucaush, and Melissa Heruta; and her grandchildren, Alexandria, Tiana, Bianca, Chelsea, Dana, Cynthia, Harley, Miguel, and Marissa. She was also a beloved grandmother to many more. Additionally, Helen is survived by her sister, Jennifer Waucaush-Wilson.

Helen's love, kindness, and supportive nature have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been embraced by her warmth and generosity.

Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
