GAITHER, Kathleen A., age 67, of South Lyon, passed away on January 4, 2020. She is the beloved sister of Jeff (Terry) Gaither, Becky (Mark) Whitaker, Keri (Brad) Gaither, Dan Gaither and Mindy (Mark) Gaither. Cherished aunt of Kristen (Joe) Goers, Karlene Gaither, Michael Whitaker, Emily (Kurt) Cockran, David Whitaker, Elliott Trombley, Kennedy Trombley, Cameron Gaither, Courtney Gaither and Chloe Gaither. She was also a loving aunt to several great nieces and nephews. Kathleen will forever be remembered for her love she gave to all her nieces and nephews and always treated them as if they were her own children. She loved spoiling all of them and cherished the time she spent with each individual one. She was a pharmacist for many years, where she proudly earned the title of “Chief Pharmacy Officer” at Penn State School of Medicine. Kathleen was the very first lady in the entire country to hold this title. Aside from working, she had a true passion to sing where she was a part of many choir groups and would often sing at church. She loved to travel and explore new places as well as frequently volunteering at the Michigan Medicine Dialysis Clinic in Ann Arbor. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Marilyn. Kathleen will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Private burial will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Michigan Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date in February. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate if memorial donations may be made in memory of Kathleen to the National Kidney Foundation.

Condolences and comfort to your extended family at this time and in the days to come. I have great memories of the trips to Toronto with your parents, Radiance rehearsals and performances at First Baptist in LP, our trips to the Fisher Theater, so many times we ate out. It has truly been an honor to assist your family in your homegoing this week. RIP dear friend. David H. Kuykendall
So sorry and sad to hear this. We have so many wonderful memories of times together at church, in Radiance, our trip to visit her when she lived in Phoenix, and many others. I'm sure one of the joyous reunions that took place today was between Kathy and Duffi, her dear friend and my sister-in-law. Missing all of them and wondering where the time went. Thankful for precious memories. RIP friend. Valerie Gugnitz
