Goodwin, Kathryn Ann (Kathy), born October 3, 1948, passed from our arms into the ones of the loving Lord on August 10, 2012. Kathy is survived by her mother, Naomi Goodwin and her sisters, Brenda Alavicheh and Jenny Grobbel. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI and later earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Kathy was employed over ten years with the Department of Human Services in Childrens’ Foster Care. She helped hundreds, perhaps more, abused and neglected children and adolescents by placing them in better homes. Social services was a heartfelt career for Kathy. She was a great help to her sister, Jenny, who was in a wheelchair and a comfort to her widowed mother, Naomi. Kathy loved all of her family, including her sister in Oklahoma, Brenda, and her extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew as well as a great niece and a great nephew. She also loved the family dog, Shiloh and had previously taken horse-back riding lessons and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wyandotte, MI. Kathy was a gentle, generous and gracious soul. She will be sorely missed. We will always remember you and love you Kathy.
