Rita Ann Gonsior, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,  great-grandmother and great great-grandmother passed away  on July 4, 2026, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Born on September 22, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a fulfilling life of 97 years.

Rita spent her early years in Detroit, where she began her career as a waitress. Her work ethic and charm endeared her to many, and she ultimately retired from Saunders, where she formed cherished friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime.

Beyond her professional life, Rita was an avid traveler, Rita enjoyed exploring new places and sharing stories of her adventures. A woman of many talents and interests. She was an exceptional cook and had a passion for crafts, including decoupage, ceramics, and crocheting. Her love for crafting was matched only by her love for reading, particularly the works of Charles Stanley and her cherished Christian Bible.

Rita was known for her warm heart and the joy she took in socializing and spending time with long-time friends and family. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with laughter and love.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Gonsior Jr.; her parents, James and Anna Lewis; her sisters, Marie Lewis, Genevieve Daniels, and Helen Leahy; and her son-in-law, Joseph Reilly, Rita leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her children, Barbara Reilly, Mary (Richard) Moll, and Andrew Gonsior III; her grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron) Nailor, Emma (Benjamin) Brott, and Aaron Moll; her great-grandchildren, Hailey Nailor, Corra Nailor, Hartley Brott, Mallory Brott, and Nora Brott; and her great-great-grandchildren, Colt West and Sophie West.
