GOODWIN, Robert F., age 89, of Dearborn, May 23, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Beverly Goodwin. Loving father of Dawn (Randy) Campbell, Diane (Anthony) Domek and Todd (Julie) Goodwin. Dear grandfather of Heather Campbell, Adrian (Lindsey) Domek, Scott Campbell, Ashley Domek, Robert Goodwin, Paige (Sean) Kirley and Faith Goodwin. Dearest great grandfather of Winnie Domek, Branson Domek and Harper Kirley. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Goodwin and Margaret (Andrew) Springer. Robert was born on the east side of Detroit and eventually moved to Lincoln Park, graduating from Lincoln Park High School in 1949. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War and served in the European Theater from 1952-1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly (Cassidy) in 1954. They were married for almost 65 years. Robert worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years in the Steel Division. He lived at Henry Ford Village where he enjoyed the company of many friends. Robert was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dearborn. He enjoyed golf, yard work and sitting in the sun, earning him the nickname “sunny boy”. He had a wonderful sense of humor and kept his friends and family entertained with his wit. Robert was very devoted to his family and looked forward to any chance he got to spend time with them. He taught his children and grandchildren to cherish their families and to always be patient and kind. He set a wonderful example for all of us and he will be terribly missed. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
