Obituary
Austin Hoffman, born on January 4, 1945, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on October 28, 2024, in Trenton, Michigan. He dedicated 42 years of his life working as a skilled maintenance professional for the Woodhaven School District, where he was known for his reliability and expertise.
Austin's hands were rarely idle; he was a man who found joy in fixing things and was very handy around the house. His love for wildlife photography captured the beauty of nature through his lens, preserving countless memories of the world around him. A talented musician, Austin played the guitar in a band and shared his passion by teaching others to play, leaving a lasting impact on many aspiring guitarists.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted spouse of 47 years, JoAnne Hoffman, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. Austin is also survived by his sister, Louisa Elsey, and her husband Paul, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who cherished his presence and guidance. His faithful pet Sarena, a constant companion, will also feel his absence deeply.
Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rachel Hoffman, and his brother, James Hoffman. His memory will be carried forward by all who knew and loved him.
