Beulah Faye Heflin, age 73, passed away at her sister’s home in Belleville, MI (Sumpter Township) on Sunday, September 8, 2013 after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 9, 1939 in Lionille, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Jonah (d.1955) and Gracie Newsom (d.2005). The family moved to Michigan in 1956, where she later married Joseph M. Heflin September 12, 1959. Left to mourn her loss is her husband, Joseph M. Heflin, her very special son Gregory Heflin of Belleville, MI., her daughter-in-law Jennifer Heflin of Indiana, 2 grandsons, Wayne (Theresa) Heflin of Indiana, Joshua Heflin of Indiana, 1 great-grandson, Jacob Heflin (her pride and joy), 3 sisters: Eula (Paul) Ward of Jackson, OH., Freda (Ron) Roman of Belleville, MI. and Reeda (Paul) Dalton of Belleville, MI. who were her loving and devoted caregivers for many years. Also, 2 brothers Otto (Bea) Newsom of Dorton, KY and Algar (Brenda) Newsom of Reynoldsburg, OH. She will be missed by all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many great-great-nieces, and nephews whom she loved seeing as often as possible… and so many relatives, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, her darling son Joseph Craig Heflin, her loving grandson Daniel Craig Heflin, her brother Delano Newsom, and her sisters Mildred Hall and Seamawn Cisco. She was a member of Morning Star Old Regular Baptist Church, Belleville, MI. for many years.
