Obituary
Cynthia H. Hubbard, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Dearborn, Michigan. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and strength touched all who knew her.
Cynthia was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Everett and Catharine Hinckley. She attended Bridgewater State College, where she pursued her love of learning and language, later becoming a French teacher. Her path then led her to serve in the United States Navy, obtaining the rank of LTJG and being awarded the National Defense Service Medal. It was in the Navy where she met the love of her life, Van Hubbard.
After they wed, Cynthia dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family as a homemaker, raising their three children with love and patience. She created a home filled with care, laughter, and lasting memories.
Cynthia also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved show dogs. Her passion and dedication led one of her dogs Champion C. Squares Grand Larceny, to compete at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show—an accomplishment she was quietly proud of.
Later in life, Cynthia moved to Michigan to be closer to her cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Van Hubbard, and her parents, Everett and Catharine Hinckley. Cynthia is survived by her three children, Vanessa (Chris) Wild, Catharine Hubbard, and Darren Hubbard; her two grandchildren, Evelyn Wild and Van Wild.
Cynthia will be remembered for her deep love for family and her love for all animals, especially her dogs. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
