HOWELL, Dortha., age 89, of Flat Rock, July 10, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Willis Hayes Howell. Loving mother of Linziebeth Darty. Dearest grandmother of Dale (Kim) Darty, Jr. and Sonseeahray (John) Tufts, dear great-grandmother of Maria, Jonathon, Brian, Jenna, Damien, Darrian and Brionna and great-great-grandmother of Olivia and the twins Brionay and Tianay. Dear sister of Peggy Mead, Martha Ondrus and Norma Deckert. She is preceded in death by her daughter Denise Gail Howell, her granddaughter Tianay Maldonado, her parents William and Rachel Sturgill and her sister Ann Swiney.

Condolences

I met Dortha as her audiologist to help her with her hearing aids. Then I fell in love with her! So beautiful, so smart, so full of love! She was just two months older than my mom, and had the same REALLY long hair. I loved her stories about her parents and about being a hearing child of deaf parents, which makes you grow up quickly. She had a lot of obstacles to face in her life, and stayed so sweet and loving until I could meet her. My love to Liz. Your mom was an awesome person. Karen (Dr Finn)
