- Although I only knew Elvis for a few short years, I knew he was a special man from the very beginning. I instantly felt comfortable and accepted into the family by him. Gary told me, "You'll love him ... everybody does," and he was right. I remember from the very beginning when I was told his name was Elvis he made it clear to me that he was the Original. I enjoyed Elvis's sense of humor but also his tender heart. He was a dear soul and I will miss him. Patty Hinson
- I've had the privilege of meeting Mr. Elvis and Ms. Opal several times over the course of my life. I feel like I know so much more about Mr. Elvis through the hunting stories my grandfather (Jack), father (Jackie) and uncle (Jerry) have told us throughout the years. My grandfather always spoke so highly of Mr. Elvis ("Evie" as he'd sometimes say). They may have been cousins but I think grandfather looked at Mr. Elvis as his brother. His face would light up when he'd tell a story about Mr. Elvis. I think some of grandfather's best memories were when they took their boys "up north" to go hunting. Our family grieves with you ... but it makes me smile to think that Jack and Elvis Hinson are back together trading stories and laughing. Brent M. Hinson
- Our family sends its deepest sympathies for the loss of Mr. Elvis. He and my grandfather Jack Hinson were cousins and life long friends. I grew up hearing all kinds of stories about Mr. Elvis (most of which had to do with hunting). Whenever they had an opportunity to be together, which never seemed often enough to suit either of them, they would joke and laugh like a couple of kids. No one could make Gramp laugh like Mr. Elvis could. Though they are missed immensely here on earth, it gives me comfort to know that the two of them are reunited in eternal glory. I’m not sure if heaven has fields full of birds to hunt; but I am sure that those two old friends will finally have time together to at least tell funny stories about hunting. Jeremy Hinson
- To a very dear man that came into my life and became my dad. From day one! he welcomed me and I firmly believe he loved me. He was one the funniest and sweetest man I have ever met. I know where my husband got his sweetness and kindness and caring factors from. I hope dad is with his baby boy and they are comforting each other. And that neither of them have no more pains no more worries and are at peace. I truly believe they are. Now we have two angels looking down on us. Nancy Hinson
- Dear Aunt Opal and cousins, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. He is at peace with our Savior now and a guardian Angel to you all. He was a "great" great Uncle to me and he will be missed by so many. My prayers are with each and every one of you that God gives you peace in your hearts knowing he is now in a better place.
