Harl William "Bill" Hill, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Rockwood, Michigan. Born in Trenton, Michigan, on January 26, 1948, Bill lived a life full of adventure and dedication, reaching the age of 78.
Bill served his country with pride as a vietnam veteran of the United States Army before embarking on a long and fulfilling career as a laborer with Ford Motor Co. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident not only in his professional life but also in his personal passions.
A man of many interests, Bill loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars and hot rods, spending countless hours building Chevelle's, Nova's, and trucks. His ability to fix anything earned him the reputation of a skilled handyman, and he approached every task with patience and perseverance.
Bill's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted and loving husband to Donna Hill and a guiding light to his children, Autumn Hill and Heather (Mamoun) Hamdan. As a grandfather, he cherished his time with Madisyn, Yasmeen, Layla, Omar, and Hagan, and he found joy in watching his great-grandchildren, Ivy, Ayah, and Liam, grow.
In addition to his family, Bill adored his furry companions, Bella and Jax, who were always by his side. He found solace and happiness in traveling up north, reading, crafting, and spending time with his beloved dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harl and Margaret Hill, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. An Honor Guard service will be held at Michigan Memorial Park to pay lasting tribute.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Veteran's Affairs, honoring Bill’s service and dedication to his country.
Bill will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for his hobbies, and his strong, determined spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and skill, touching the lives of all who knew him.
