Originally from Belzoni, Mississippi, Ledora Hemmingway was born on September 23, 1928. She eventually moved to Michigan and passed away at her home in Romulus, Michigan on August 11, 2020 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife to the late James Hemmingway. A devoted mother to Delores (Bobby) Conway and James (the late Colleen) Hemmingway. A very proud grandmother of 12 and a great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to several. A cherished sister to Bessie, Maddie and Clint. Sadly, she is preceded in death her parents, Will and Bessie and her 4 children, Bonnie Dennis, Peggy Minks, Laura Gardener and Gary Hemmingway. Ledora loved to stay active as she played golf, loved to dance and garden and was a part of school activities. If anyone had to describe Ledora, she was often thought of as “the life of the party” and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by so many. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery with her husband, James.
