Mrs. Hyland was the daughter of August and Agnes (Favor) Heide. She married Leo Hyland November 15, 1934 in Monroe. He died in 1979. She is the loving mother of Joan (the late Wayne) Sandifer and the late Leo Hyland. Dear Grandmother of Sherry Elliott, Carolyn (Mark) Ball, Wayne Sandifer, Gregory (Holly) Hyland. Great-grandchildren Christopher (Kelly) Elliott, Kristen (Charles) Knee, Ryan Elliott, Mark Ball, Amanda Elliott and Heidi Hyland. Great-Great Grandchildren Zachary, Christopher, Makenzie and Madalynn.She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Helen Munies, Hazel Hakalow and Eleanor Handloser, and two grandchildren, Jeff and Colleen Hyland. She attended Holy Redeemer church and school and was a member of the moose. She worked as a sales clerk at Sam’s Department store in Detroit for 20 years before retiring in 1968. She loved playing Euchre, cooking, family gatherings, and vacationing at the home of her sister Helen Munies in Miami Florida on the Biscayne Bay. She spent many summers as a child with her family at the Estral Beach Hotel that her father built. In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Luncheon for family and friends will follow at St. Mary’s School, Rockwood.
