Obituary

HOFFMAN, Matthew C., age 39, of Woodhaven, August 15, 2024. Beloved son of Karen Hoffman. Loving brother of Melissa (Matt) Greer and Brian Hoffman. Dearest uncle of Ellie, Emma, Brian, and Lukas. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Hoffman Jr., and grandparents Leon and Evelyn Ellis, and Robert and Wanda Hoffman. Matthew loved sports, animals, fantasy football, and spending time with his friends. He will be loved and missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodhaven or Brownstown Animal Shelters.

I’ve lost touch with Matt since college, but, we were close friends growing up. I’m deeply sorry to hear of his passing and my condolences to his family. We were close friends since middle school and were on many sports teams together, some of the baseball teams were coached by his father. Cheers my friend. Bill Howard
Dang man, I was deeply saddened to come across this via facebook. Matt was a high spirited person and was a good friend of mine for a long time. My condolences to his mom and sister and brother and the rest of his family. I have many memories with Hoff but I’ll never forget my 17th birthday April 1, 2003 he picked me up after school locked and loaded with 40’s ready to do whatever I wanted to do. I see the same word used a lot when describing Matt, and that is “passionate”. Boy is that dead on. He loved deeply the things that were important to him. I stayed close with him well after high school through The Simpsons, poker and fantasy football. We weren’t best friends, but through our interests, we could always pick up where we left off. Time is an evil construct. It takes everything from us and gives nothing in return. Just last week, I told my youngest about the crazy content we were making in broadcast class. We cut that mock Survivor intro, which is still one of my favorite projects. I wish I had hung on to that stuff; I'd love to share it. We will miss our sweet nephew Matt . He was very kind and helpful , especially to his Grandma Hoffman.She and Matt’s dad ( Bob Hoffman ) are embracing him now , and will hold on tightly till the rest of his family is with him ! RIP Matt — we will love & miss you always ♥️♥️♥️ Aunt Kathy Laverdiere
