  • Im incredibly sad to hear about Mr. Homeister, my 6th grade math teachers passing. I remember walking into class my first day with bright hotpink lipgloss on, and he called me hot lips. I loved hearing about his stories about when he worked on the trains/railroads. We got to talking one day in class, and I was talking about my grandmother. Come to find out he knew her. He was truly a wonderful person, and one of my alltime favorite teachers! Thank you for having an impact on my life, and I'll surely cherish the memories in my heart! ❤ Heather LaBelle

  • To the family of Mr. Homeister you have lost a dear family member , but the world has lost a great man and mentor. His legacy will live on forever in the hearts and minds of the thousands of school kids he made an indelible impression on. He was my Fourth grade teacher at Chapman when he had only been teaching 2 years. I had the great opportunity to run into him at a Carlson football game a few years ago. I walked up to him an after 30 plus years he still knew me by sight and exclaimed " is that Billy Weller?". He then went on to tell me he would ride his bike by my house on Olmstead and stop by and talk about farm equipment with my dad in our barn... my dad passed away in 84 and I never knew Orville and he were friends. Orv , you will be deeply missed by me and I'm sure hundreds of other students that have had the privilege to meet you and be influenced by your kind words. Bill Weller
