Obituary
Paul D. Hyder, born on August 29, 1963, in Detroit, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2025. At the age of 61, Paul traded in his boating gear for angel wings and his beloved football games for heavenly highlights.
Paul had a deep passion for life and enjoyed spending his time boating, hunting, skiing, and watching football games. His love for the great outdoors and sports brought him joy and fulfillment, which he shared with his family and friends.
Paul leaves behind his devoted wife of 34 years, Shelda Hyder, who miraculously put up with his antics. Together they raised 2 remarkable children Brittany Hyder and Joshua Hyder, who were his pride and joy.
Paul is also survived by his brother Mark (Dawn) Hyder and sister Kaye (Ralph) Kotzian. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews who will miss his stories and laughter. He will be fondly remembered by a wide circle of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Shirley and John Hyder, and his brothers Keith Hyder and John Hyder Jr. No doubt they are all reunited now, sharing stories and laughter in the great beyond.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on March 29th, 2025, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 32430 Ann Arbor Trail, Westland , MI 48185. The viewing will take place from 9 AM to 10 AM, followed by the service at 10 AM. A small luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall, where stories will be shared, laughs will be had, and Paul will be celebrated and remembered.
