Phenie Frances Holbrook, affectionately known as Frances, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born on March 21, 1942, in Kentucky and lived a full and vibrant life of 83 years.

Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her warmth and hospitality were known to all who had the pleasure of entering her home. She had a talent for cooking and cleaning, creating a welcoming and joyful atmosphere, especially during the holidays, which were her cherished time to decorate and celebrate with family.

A devoted sports fan, Frances held the Detroit Tigers close to her heart, rarely missing a game. She also enjoyed the thrill of the casino, finding delight in the excitement it brought.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Bert and Lacy Hamilton, her sister May, and her brother Pervis. Frances is survived by her devoted husband, Tilsmon Holbrook Jr., with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage. Together, they built a legacy through their children: Sherry (Mark) Borden, Patricia (Eric) Valcke, Tilsman "Dale" (Christina) Holbrook, and Lisa (Tim) Lewis.

Frances' love extended to her grandchildren: Sanya (Steve), Renee (Chris), Savannah (Sean), Dennis Dale (Nalana), Danielle (Chris), Gerald (Rosie), Eric (Amanda), Ryan (Amber), and Keegan. Her great-grandchildren included Ian, Savannah, Haley, Serenity, Michael, Kylie, Dominick, Zayden, Aleah, Emalee, Lincoln, Brooklyn, Ella, Jordan, Brayden, Aiden, McKenna, Audrey, Addilynn, Preston, Lainey, Izabella, Madison, Dennis Dale Jr., Lexus, Bria, and Ivy. She also leaves behind two cherished great-great-grandchildren, Ian and Valerie.

Frances is also survived by her dear sisters, Opal and Ann, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Her legacy of love, family, and dedication to those she cared for will continue to inspire all who knew her. Frances will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her extensive family and friends.
