We all live on borrowed time. People come and go so unexpectedly, we sometimes forget that nothing really lasts as long as we hoped it would. Surely, losing someone dear to us can be a heartbreaking experience and we lost Robert Mitchell Highley, of Rockwood, on Thursday February 18th, 2021 at the age of 60.Bob’s main priority in life was to always support and provide for his family, his wife of 35 years Janette Highley, his daughter Meah Highley, and his son Robert HighleyBob was an extremely hard worker, a skilled weldor by trade. Retired from North Star Steele and Detroit Edison, Trenton. There was no place that Bob would rather be than outdoors. Bob was an avid outdoorsman hunting and trapping whenever he could. He also took this time to share his knowledge and skills with anyone who wanted to learn. He was a loving father to both his children by providing and supporting them in everything they did. He was immensely proud of them, telling everyone he could about their accomplishments. His loyalty for his family and friends is unsurpassed. He was respected by all those who knew himPer Bobs request his remains are to be scattered on his and his wife’s property in Hillsdale Michigan, where they are building their future home. The family will be announcing a time and date of the celebration of Bob’s life in the near future. His love, whit, humor and companionship will be greatly missed by all knew himBob was proceeded in death by his parents Leon and Bonnie Highley; Sisters Penny Highley and Peggy Mruzek and his Uncle Bill Barrow. He will be deeply missed by his wife Janette Highely; daughter Meah Highley; son Robert Highley and his Fiancé Kristen Grabowski; Sister Patricia (Greg) Woodcroft and his many nieces and nephews. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
Condolences
Heartfelt condolences to you Meah, and your family. Prayers and hugs. Sharon Crooks
Bob was a neighbor. We always said hi whenever we saw each other in the neighborhood. I consider Bob to be the best hunter and trapper in Rockwood. The State Game area in East Rockwood will never be the same. A lot of people in Rockwood during the past few years have gotten cancer or have died from it. I believe the silica dust is to blame. Rest In Peace Bob. Scott Beaudrie
