Obituary

Robert Statler Harrison of Grosse Ile, Michigan was born on September 10, 1941 to the late Robert and Clara Harrison in Rochester, New York. Robert is the beloved husband of Susan Harrison for 57 years. Together, they have three children, Todd Harrison, Jon Paul (Judie) Harrison and Kristen (Gregg Kacvinski) Harrison. He is the proud grandfather of three, Fialka “Fia”, Petra and Ivan. Robert is the cherished brother of Jane (The late Ronald) Washer. Robert was formerly named “Skipper of the Year” at Ford Yacht Club. It was because of the Ford Yacht Club, they were led to Grosse Ile, where he managed their Victorian that they currently own. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

  • 02/24/2021. Au Revoir Mon Père!!!! Todd Robert Harrison
  • He had a dazzling smile that would light up the room whenever he entered. He was gentle, patient, slow to anger, and good humored. He loved cars, the Statler Brothers, Nutter Butters, cheap beer, sailboats, renovating houses, and, during the year he lived and worked in China, listening to Madonna’s Immaculate Collection CD to ease his homesickness. He was an engineer at Ford Motor Company and led the team that developed the Venturi carburetor that appeared on the cover of Popular Science during the energy crisis in the 1970s. He was humble to a fault and we didn’t learn until we were adults how far he had gone with a simple 2-year drafting degree from SUNY-Morrisville. He was our dad, and we miss him so much. Kristen Harrison
  • My brother in law for 57 years who shared his love and support with my sister, Susie. In all those years, Rob’s smile was omnipresent. He treated me more like family than just in-law. I miss him now and always will. John Brown
