Obituary
Ronnie Lucille Helme passed away on May 21, 2026, in her hometown of Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on March 20, 1943, Ronnie lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion for the simple joys that surrounded her.
Ronnie's life was marked by her deep-rooted Lutheran faith, which guided her in all her endeavors. She found immense joy in the beauty of nature, spending countless hours tending to her garden. Her green thumb was renowned among family and friends, as was her talent for stenciling and furniture refinishing. Ronnie had a special affinity for old homes, drawn to their history and character, much like the historical areas she loved to visit during her travels.
Her compassion extended beyond her personal interests, as she was a staunch advocate for children and dedicated her time volunteering at the Police Department. A lover of animals, especially dogs, Ronnie's home was always filled with warmth and wagging tails. In her quieter moments, she could often be found with a romance novel in hand, transported to different worlds through the power of storytelling.
Ronnie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ed and Betty Helme, and her son, Sean (Tonya) Pedley. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Sue) Pedley, Robin (Chad) Mallie, and Elizabeth (Jeff) Hudgens, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Her memory will also live on in her ten grandchildren: Stephen (fiancée Rachel), Nicole, Andrew (Melissa), Christianna (Zach), Danielle, Joshua, Collin, Drew, Jacob, and Brody, and her nine great-grandchildren: Hannah, Cameron, Logan, Wyatt, Owen, Clara, Emrys, Stella, and Charlie. She also leaves behind her brother, Bill, who shared in the joys and challenges of life and her sisters, Shirley and Linda.
Ronnie's presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
