Steven A. Hudock of New Boston, Michigan passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the age of 81. Steven was the son of Steven Hudock of Scranton Pennsylvania and Irene (Kutcher) Hudock of Wyandotte, Michigan. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Lincoln Park. Steven is survived by his only sibling, his loving brother Jack Hudock, as well as his children Steven P. Hudock (Jeff Ellis), Jeffery Hudock, Julia Henderson, Paul (Divina) Hudock, and Loretta West. He was also the grandfather to Dylan Henderson, Bill West, Trevor West, Hanna Hudock, Madelyn York, and Samuel York as well as his great grandchildren Raelynn Henderson and Sawyer Henderson.
Steven was a mover and shaker. He was the owner of Fort and Emmons Donut Shop in Lincoln Park, then moved on to real estate, and a salesman for Parts Associates Inc. In 1979, he opened the Auction Palace in Flat Rock, Michigan where he held weekly auctions. He was a spirited auctioneer and ran the Auction House with many of his children until he retired in January of 2015.
He loved baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed playing the lottery, black coffee every morning, and reading the newspaper. Dad loved the thrill of risk and gambling which we believe is why he loved the auction business and always hunting for the next big treasure. Additionally, he was an avid bowler in his younger years. This may have been what ignited his bowling ball yard display on Sibley over the past few decades.
Funeral services will be held at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, May 23, 2025. With private family viewing from 1:00 - 2:00 and the family receiving visitors from 2:00 - 7:00. Final words, thoughts, and stories will be shared from 7:00 - 8:00 with cremation to follow. Steven wasn’t very formal; the family recognized his love for the Detroit Tigers by wearing Detroit Tiger gear and would welcome visitors to do so as well if they choose. Please feel free to come dressed comfortably.
