HUTCHINGS, Thyra J., age 83, of Brownstown Twp., May 21, 2018. Loving mother of Rosemarie Applebee, Renee (Charles) Shade, Susan (Gregory) Chahil, Christine (Charles) Holt, Richard Diehl and Laurie Daniels. Dearest grandmother of Matthew, Monica, Jennifer, Tracie, Sarah, Heather, Jessica, Jeannie, Vanessa and great-grandmother of Emily, Jaime, Daniel, Wyatt, Hunter, Veyda, Avery, Brittney, Nicholas, Brooklyn and Caleb and great-great-grandmother of Avery. She is also survived by her brother Norman (Donna) Knaggs and her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Knaggs. She is preceded in death by her parents Thyra and Earl Rogers and Hezikiah Knaggs, her brothers Donald Knaggs and Robert Knaggs and her son-in-law Irvin Applebee. Her cremation took place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

Jean was a wonderful, positive human being. She worked with me every night while my own mother was in the hospital to drill me on spelling and I won the grade champion spelling bee. That was in 1960. I babysat her children while she worked. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family and friends she was wonderful. Sorry to see she has passed away, she will be missed. Diana Smith

My mother was a beautiful lady inside and out, she worked hard all her life trying to raise her family of 6. She gave me everything she could. She taught me how to be respectful, honest, compassionate, and so much more. She has always been there for me she was my best friend. I well miss her so much. My mom was also a example of christian faith she read and study her Bible daily as well as prayed faithfully for her family and friends she also prayed for others she didn't know. She had a beautiful voice and she loved to sing praises to God and is Son. Chris Holt
