Tony Leaman Herron, born on August 7, 1934, in Lepanto, Arkansas, passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 89, in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Tony was a man of integrity and dedication, qualities he carried throughout his life, both in his career and personal passions. He spent many years as a Quality Control Manager at General Motors, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence. His work ethic and leadership were an inspiration to his colleagues and friends.
Beyond his professional life, Tony had a profound love for horses. He devoted many years to showing them, a testament to his patience, dedication, and deep connection with these magnificent animals. His passion for horses brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Leaman and Bethel Herron, and his brother Dwight Herron. He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnne Herron; his children Mark Herron, Melinda Clark (Mike), Joanne Kovacs, Ernest (Caren) Gurka, Annette (David) Vanwashenova, and Frank (Cindy) Gurka; his brother Vern Herron; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and the love he shared with them will forever be cherished.
Tony's legacy of hard work, love for his family, and passion for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Though he has departed from this world, Tony Leaman Herron's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
