Obituary
Woodson Hooker, Jr., born on June 30, 1948, in Beans Fork, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 76.
Woodson dedicated 34 years of service to Chrysler Trenton Engine, where he forged many friendships and left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him. Known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment, he retired with fond memories and respect from his colleagues.
Woodson cherished the moments spent with his family, always valuing the time shared with those he loved most. He had a passion for automobiles, being a devoted Mopar fan. Among his prized possessions were his '69 Road Runner and his 2012 Challenger "Yellow Jacket," which brought him immense joy and satisfaction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodson Hooker and Bonnie (James) Hall, as well as his son, Woody Hooker, and his brother, Rocky.
Woodson leaves behind his beloved wife, Denise Hooker, who was his steadfast partner and support throughout his life. He is also survived by his children: Beverly Lang, Elizabeth (Michael) Simm, Andrew (Alisa) Hooker, and Timothy Hooker. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Craig, Michael, Christina, Ashley, Michelle, Earl, Tyler, Joseph, Daisy, Amelia, Delilah, and Abigail, along with his nine great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
His siblings, Norma Davis, Mary (Sal) Richardson, and Sue McKinney, will remember him with love and affection. Woodson is also survived by his sister-in-law, Claudette Hooker, who was a cherished part of his extended family.
Woodson's warmth, kindness, and dedication to family and friends will be dearly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
