Obituary
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Millie Illum. Millie was born on December 2, 1941, in Monroe, Michigan, and passed peacefully on June 29, 2026. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and a source of unwavering love and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Millie had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and compassionate heart brought comfort and joy to family, friends, and neighbors alike. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories, whether through a family gathering, a heartfelt conversation, or simply sharing laughter around the table. Her love was unconditional, her wisdom was steady, and her presence made every room brighter.
Family was the center of Millie's life. She celebrated every milestone, offered strength during life's challenges, and was always the first to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her legacy is one of selflessness, grace, and quiet strength. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, forgiveness, hard work, and loving one another without reservation.
She found happiness in life's simple blessings – the company of family and friends, holiday traditions, time spent outdoors, and creating lasting memories with the people she loved most. Her gentle spirit and infectious laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Millie is survived by siblings Jackie Wilson and Jimmy McPherson, nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leroy Illum, sisters Janice Range, Jody McPherson, Dorthy Paupst and parents Dorthy and Foster McPhearson.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort knowing that the love she shared will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be a blessing, reminding us to live with compassion, generosity, and gratitude.
A visitation will be held on Monday August 3rd, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM located at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home - 30895 West Huron River Dive, Flat Rock, MI 48134.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
